The 4 Happy Hormones

HOW TO BE HAPPY

Our bodies are amazing – this is a known fact!

So much so that our bodies produce hormones to help us stay happy!

This is why being self-aware and being in touch with oneself is so important. Focusing on your wellbeing and wellness can help stabilise and increase hormones that work to help our bodies feel better and happier.

So, what are these hormones...?

Oxytocin. Serotonin. Dopamine. Endorphins.

Each one of these hormones works in different ways to help us feel better, feel relieved, less stressed, help stabilise our mood, relieve pain and do much more.

So let’s break down the four individual hormones and see exactly what they can do for you!

Endorphins

Endorphins are the hormone in place that when produced help relieve stress and pain. Feeling stressed is inevitable as life can often be unpredictable and overwhelming.

Serotonin

Serotonin helps stabilise your mood and promotes the feeling of well-being and happiness. With the ability to impact your entire body it uses brain cells and other nervous systems to communicate.

Dopamine

Dopamine is a natural motivator. It boosts feelings of pleasure and reward. When we get hits of dopamine we are incentivised to keep going as the feeling is euphoric

Oxytocin

Oxytocin “the love drug” is the hormone associated mostly with social bonding. Oxytocin is produced most highly when women give birth through reproduction.
